Best Mexican Food in Jacksonville Beach

AJUA Mexican Kitchen & Bar is one of those places that instantly feels inviting. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. It works just as well for a laid-back dinner as it does for a fun night out. We ordered from their ELITE menu, and every dish truly lived up to the name. The Air Nachos were a great way to start—light, crispy, and packed with flavor without feeling heavy. The Mexican shrimp cocktail was fresh and refreshing, with a nice balance of citrus, spice, and tender shrimp. One standout dish was the grilled steak over crispy potatoes, finished with chipotle aioli and chimichurri sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and the sauces tied everything together beautifully. The quesabirria with jus was rich, cheesy, and incredibly satisfying, with deep, slow-cooked flavor that made every bite memorable. The tacos were excellent across the board. We tried the crispy chicken, goat barbacoa, cauliflower, and carnitas, and each one had its own distinct character. From crunchy and savory to tender and boldly seasoned, there wasn’t a single miss. The quesadilla with huitlacoche was another highlight—earthy, comforting, and something you don’t see on every menu, which made it even more special. The margaritas were smooth and well-balanced, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, AJUA Mexican Kitchen & Bar delivers on flavor, quality, and experience. If you’re looking for Mexican cuisine done with care and creativity, this is a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

Ajua is our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Jax Beach. Our server was attentive and pleasant and the bartender made an awesome mocktail and margarita. The food was fantastic! I’m a huge fan of croquettes and Ajua did it right with a delicious guava jam. We mix and matched tacos, which were also a hit, especially the carnitas taco. The flautas were very nicely done with perfectly crisp tortillas. They say you eat with your eyes and the presentation of the food was brilliant. We will be back again to continue our exploration of Ajua’s food and drinks.

Best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico. I just got back from a trip to Chiapas and while visiting my family in Florida I had a craving for Mexican food. The pictures of the tacos at this place looked good so I took the chance and I was really impressed. The food was as good as the pictures looked. Just as good as any of the tacos I had in Chiapas. I also loved the churros. Exactly as good as the churros I had from the street vendors in San Cristobal. I will be visiting to eat here again the next time I come to visit my family

This was my second time here. Both times I have had great cocktails and fresh delicious food. Great atmosphere and they had a woman making tortillas from scratch. I have tried the fajitas and If few different appetizers. Definitely give it a try.
